Antique 19thc. Museum Quality 14K Gold MOURNING JEWELRY BROOCH Lot (26.3 Grams)

These stunning quality brooches have intricately woven hair in them as mementos/keepsakes of their loved ones. Brooches were acid tested to have a 14k gold content (where stated - see images). 42mm x 32mm Oval brooch with intricately braided blond hair (rare). Framed with teardrop Jet Black Gems and Pearls, affixed in a bezel/channel style continuous 14k yellow gold setting. The backing is also solid 14k yellow gold (A) as is the chain loop (B), with no inscription on it. The pin and clasp are not gold (C). 32mm x 21mm Oval brooch with highly intricate brown hair braiding in an open conical design. This work of art is secured by spiraling conical 14k gold rope style wires, topped with a delicate Pearl. The brooch is framed in a twisted rope style design as well, also testing as 14k gold (A).

The solid backing and necklace loop are also 14k gold (A, B) and is etched in script: Oct.. Well over 150 years old. The pin is not gold (C).

39mm x 29mm Rectangular designed brooch with an intricate'Celtic Knot' style brown hair braid secured behind glass. This brooch is framed in a fine line of 14k gold with a thick Jet Black matting and an oval 14k fine line encircling the glass. The backing is plain with light dings and tested as 14k gold (A) as well. The pin and clasp are not gold (B, C). Condition is opinionated/subjective and not a professional valuation.
