This listing is for an Antique Memento Mori Pendant Soldiers Mourning Assemblage / Sweethearts pendant featuring an antique and extremely rare Albany NY Button. Its almost made like a reliquary, but to honor / remember a person not a religious figure. I believe it to be from the 1840s-60s, possibly earlier, based on the button piece. I assume it is a button, I have not opened the piece up at all.

It appears to be sealed, and doing so may damage the contents. The button features the crest of Albany, New York, and features their motto "Assitude" below a crest flanked by a colonial man & a Native American warrior. Below this button is a small piece of semi opaque natural stone which I believe to be selenite or mica. It is over top a small piece of ephemera printed with forget me not flowers. Unfortunately I do not have any provenance for this piece- a real shame because Id bet the story was really interesting.

A nice little bit of victorian meaning. It is a fascinating little piece of American history for collectors, display / decor, gifting, wearing, and more!

It is in good antique condition, with no major damage. The glass piece is not cracked, no major dents or creases to the metal case. It may have been silver plated brass, some nice patina and small plate wear- see photos.

Thank you for your consideration, reasonable offers always considered. Comes as shown, please see photos for details and measurements.
