Antique Victorian 1843 Solid 9ct Gold & Black Enamel Woven Hair Mourning Brooch

Welcome to William Sharpe Antiques. Here today for your consideration we have this beautiful Victorian solid 9ct yellow gold mourning brooch, featuring a black enamel body and woven hair panel behind bevelled glass, c-1843.

The brooch is of fine quality in both design and construction, with bevelled glass window and later safety clasp fitted. Condition is good used, with no major damage to note. The brooch is inscribed to the reverse with a date of 1843 and is without hallmark (tested and guaranteed 9ct gold throughout). A very attractive 19th century mourning brooch for the collection. The brooch measures 35mm x 30mm across the face, weighing in at 11.85gms unpacked.
