Antique Victorian Mourning Double Portrait WW1 Soldier Goldfill On Watch Chain

Very Special what I believe to be WW1 Military Mourning Piece Double Sided Pendant. The Gentleman is very young on the out of uniform picture and very young in uniform. I'm not sure if there is momento incased inside.

I don't want to take it apart. The chain is very rich gold fill, it is a watch chain. Photo Pendant is 1 1/4. I would assume this is a French Soldier.
