He should have his characteristic sideburn/ muttonchops & the word Albert should be more pronounced. With the right wax this would be corrected. I believe it is carved from rock crystal and not glass due to the visual characteristics, but I could be wrong. It appears to be made with brass as well, ornately designed in various patterns. This piece may have been given by Queen Victoria herself in her period of mourning, or it may have been made for a member of her court / the mourning public.
Alberts death & the effect it had on Victoria, as well as their love story as a whole, had a profound a lasting effect on the whole of society that still strongly affects us to this very day. This piece is an excellent part of that historical time of grandeur and opulence, as well as controversy and plots. It is unmarked by any maker or dated, but appears to be from around the time of the Princes death or in the years following. It is an excellent high quality piece for collectors of antiques and royal items, display, gifting, museums / educational institutions, gifting, and more. (Discounts are available for museums or educational institutions, please feel free to reach out and inquire about them).
It is in good antique condition. It has very little wear to the intaglio stone itself, the bust of the prince appears to have to major chips wear or other damage. The letters appear crisp and well carved. The brass mounting / fob piece has some wear, as is common, but still has good lines & strong patterns. It definitely can still be used for its intended purpose or a variety of other uses. Thank you for reading, and your consideration. Comes as shown, please see photos for details and measurements.
