Victorian Mourning Cross Brooch Made of Jet and 10K Gold

Delightful example of Jet Mourning jewelry made in the Victorian period - cross brooch measuring 40mm x 25mm. Each arm of the cross is capped with a 10K gold cover. There has been a repair to one of the east-west piece which is indistinguishable from the front. There is a little flea bite on the front. For 140+ years old, this piece is still in good shape with lots more wear to go!

No repair to fastener - appears original.
